The 2007 Ultimate Song Chart Awards Presentation was held on Tuesday in Hong Kong with Eason Chan and Joey Yung crowned Best Male Singer and Best Female Singer.

Web site Sina.com.cn reported that Eason Chan obtained five awards at the ceremony, including Gold Award for Best Male Singer and Album of the Year with his new offering “Listen to Eason Chan.”

‘5th Annual Yahoo! Most Searched Popular Awards’ were handed out yesterday during an award ceremony. Twins, who were winners of 3 awards, including the ‘Most Searched People of the Year Award’, exclaimed, “We are very happy that people all over the world are paying attention to us.”

Meanwhile, this year’s hottest series, ‘Heart of Greed’ won the ‘Most Searched Category Award’ and ‘Best Television Series Award’. Its lead actress, Lee Sze Kei took home the ‘Television Actress Award’ while fellow cast member, Raymond Lam was awarded ‘Television Actor Award’ and ‘Most Searched Rising Popularity Newcomer’. Linda Chung and rumoured couple, Bosco Wong and Myolie Wu were made the ‘Most Searched Rising Popularity Artists’. Lee Sze Kei commented, “This series has such a great feedback, I would have never realised. I love acting but I will not be affected by awards. I will not be pressured while filming the sequel.”

Raymond Lams successful album launch has turn gold. A celebration party was held specially for his achievement by is record company last night. TVB executives Miss Rain, Lok Yi-ling, RTHK and Commercial Radio also were represented. At the banquet Raymond Lam was presented with the “2007 Rookie of the highest record sales” album and plaque.

Commenting on the launch and the sales success, Raymond commented the timing was just right. As a matter of fact, he thought of recording an album when he first entered the entertainment circle 10 years ago. As the years passed, he did not emphasis and stressed that a lot of opportunities were lost.
With the success of his role in ‘Heart of Greed’ being applauded by many in the audience coupled with the album launch, the timing was just good. In his effort to promote and gain acceptance as a singer, he also accepted jobs outside of TVB and intend to focus on music in the coming future. He will also be filming for ‘Heart of Greed II’ next year February.
Although Raymond is also surprised with the album sales reaching more than twenty thousand copies,
he is unsure when he can record his second album. He hope to bring a different style to his next album as he prefers Rap and pop music.

Show “Xiao Zhu” Luo’s newest album “Wu Suo Bu Zai – Show Your Dance” is on it’s second version “Wu Suo Bu Zai – Show Your Dance – Dance Champion Disc”. EMI especially held a “Wu Suo Bu Zai – Show Your Dance – Dance Champion Celebratory Press Conference” for Show. In reality, Show had just returned to Taiwan from Shanghai at 4 in the morning, ending his 6 days of work in Shanghai. But Show, who never calls it quits, was still very energetic and enthusiastic at the press conference. He was even happier when his album set very good records, and he couldn’t wait to go back home to share this good news with everyone.

The year 2007 can be said to be Show’s most rewarding year, heading into 2008. At the press conference, they showed Show’s “Six Aspects of Omnipotence” of the entire year video. He wasn’t just the champion of variety shows, champion of dramas, Golden Melody’s Most Favorite Male Artist; he was also the champion of commercials and champion of sales. The program he hosts, “100% Entertainment,” at GTV set a record of the champion of all other entertainment news programs. The drama that he starred in “Corner with Love” was also in first place, surpassing all other dramas airing at the same time. In November, his 2 consecutive concerts “SHOW ON STAGE” at the Taipei Dome Arena was voted as the best concert of the year. The most astonishing is, just in the year 2007, Show endorsed for 15 different companies, beating out all male entertainers, also a “champion” in this aspect.

Local singer Eason Chan was the biggest winner on Sunday night at the Mandarin Music-On-Demand (MOD) Best 10 Awards ceremony held by Hong Kong’s TVB station. He walked away with 5 awards on the night.

Chan’s song “Tao Tai” (Elimination) won Best Producing, Best Songwriting and was one of the Best 10 Golden Melodies. Another of his hits, “Under Mount Fuji,” was named the Globally-Loved Cantonese Song. Chan himself was also voted as the Most Popular Male Singer.

Taiwan singer Angela Zhang was the Most Popular Female Singer.

As one of Hong Kong’s most important occasions music-wise, the awards also honored new artistes from the mainland, including Zhang Liangying and Shang Wenjie, both of who rose to fame from the Super Girl singing competition.

Zhang Liangying’s “Damned Love” was among the Golden Melodies, while Shang Wenjie was named Best Newcomer.
